Angel Garcia

Vertigo

“Vertigo” is an album project that delves into the disorienting experience of growing up, as the fictional artist, Jayda Blue, grapples with the complexities of adulthood while holding onto a deep desire for fun, freedom, and self-expression. Set against the vibrant backdrop of South Los Angeles, the album captures the dizzying uncertainty of this journey and the comforting sense of place within one’s roots.

As the art director and graphic designer, Angel Garcia was tasked with creating an album identity that visually expresses this complex narrative. The brief called for a design that mirrors the artist’s exploration of self and the tension between embracing responsibility and yearning for freedom. Angel’s design approach crafted an identity that transforms the artist’s exploration of self amid the challenges of growing up while remaining grounded in South LA's bold-spirited culture and energy.
